Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by Minister of Defence of the Republic of Belarus Lt. Gen. Viktar Gennadyevich Khrenin, who attended the Parade of the 80th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day, at the parlour of Zeyathiri Villa here this morning.
Also present at the call together with the Senior General were Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, SAC Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Union Minister for Defence General Maung Maung Aye, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Kyaw Swa Lin, and senior military officers from the Office of the Commanderin-Chief. The Belarusian Defence Minister was accompanied by Ambassador of Belarus to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Uladzimir BARAVIKOU, Deputy Minister of Defence Maj. Gen. Andrei Valerianovich Burdyko, senior military officers from Belarus, the Belarusian military attaché and officials.
At the call, the Senior General expressed thanks for attending the 80th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day and warmly welcomed the delegation. The Belarusian Defence Minister expressed pleasure for the opportunity to attend the 80th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day at the invitation of the Senior General, and presented the message of congratulations for the 80th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day sent by President of Belarus Mr. Alexander Lukashenko to the Senior General.
Cordial discussions were centred on diplomatic relations between the two countries that reach a period of 25 years, improving bilateral friendship and cooperation, ongoing process of implementing the bilateral cooperation undertakings covered by agreements reached during the Senior General’s goodwill visit to Belarus, promotion of cooperation in multiple sectors including defence and military technology, science and technology, agriculture, investment in production businesses, mutual trade, industrial, economic, pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors, cooperation in human resources development, further strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the future, exchange of friendly goodwill visits of senior officers, Myanmar’s political developments, various political systems Tatmadaw had experienced throughout the pass successive periods and multiple times it had saved the country from internal and external dangers, preparations to hold a free and fair multi-party democracy general election.
After the call, the Senior General presented an 80th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day commemorative badge and gifts to the Belarusian Defence Minister, who in return, presented commemorative gifts to the Senior General, followed by a group photo session.
