The 37 Chinese Rescue and Medical Team members from Yunnan Province arrived at Yangon International Airport at 7:10 am local time on March 29. They are the first international rescue team to arrive in Myanmar within 18 hours of the earthquake.
The rescue team will quickly proceed to Nay Pyi Taw, the most affected area, to participate in rescue operations.
Ms Cao Jing, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, and Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein welcomed the rescue team at the airport.
