The Parade of the 80th Anniversary Armed Forces Day, which falls on 27 March 2025, took place at Nay Pyi Taw military parade ground this evening with an address by Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing.
Officers and other ranks ofthe Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), female parade company of the Tatmadaw (Army), members of Myanmar Police Force and female parade company of MPF in columns which would participate in the parade ceremony took positions at the Thittat parade ground and participatedin it as per the parade agenda. Then the Bagpipe Band andthe Central Military Band took the designated position in the parade ground.
The flag bearers led by Parade Commander Maj-Gen Ye Kyaw Thu, followed by Anawyahtar Column led by Column Commander Brig-Gen Ye Kyaw Kyaw, comprising guard ofhonour, the parade companies representing the Directorate of Artillery, Office of Chief of Air Defence Troops, Directorate of Signals, Norther Command, East Central Command, Coastal Region Command, and North-West Command,Kyansittha column led by Column Commander Brig-Gen Tun Naing Oo comprising Guard of Honour, parade companies representing Directorate of Military Engineers, Office of Chief of Military Equipment Production, Directorate of Ordnance, North-East Command, Triangle Region Command,South-West Command and Central Command, Bayintnaung column led by Column Commander Brig-Gen Aung Aung Naing, comprising guard of honour, parade companies of Office of Commanderin- Chief (Navy), Office of Commander-in- Chief (Navy) (female technician company 1), Office of Commander-in- Chief (Navy) (female technician company 2),Office of Commander-in- Chief (Navy) (company 1, 2, 3 and 4), Aung Zeya column led by Column Commander Brig -Gen Zaw Hein Kyaing comprising guard of honour, parade companies representing Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army) Office of Commander- in-Chief (Army) (female company), Office of Commander-in- Chief (Army) (female company 1), Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army) (female company 2), Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army) (female company 3),Office of Commander-in- Chief (Army) (female technician company 1), Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army) (female technician company 2), Office of Commanderin- Chief (Army) (female technician company 3), Hsinbyushin column led by Column Commander Brig-Gen Zaw Win Tun comprising guard of honour, parade companies representing Office of Commander- in-Chief (Air), Office of Commander- in-Chief (Air) (female technician company 1 and 2), Office of Commander- in-Chief (Air) (company 1,2,3 and 4), Bandoola column led by Column Commander Brig -Gen Nyi Nyi Win comprising guard of honour, airborne parade company, parade companies representing Directorate of Tanks, Directorate of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Eastern Command, South-East Command, Western Command and Southern Command,The Aung San column led by column commander Police BrigadierGeneral Maung Maung Oo comprising the guard of honour company, the parade company representing Myanmar Police Force(Women), the parade companies (1) and (2) representing MPF (Women), and the parade companies (1), (2), (3) and (4) representing MPF (Men), together with the military bands marched towards the parade ground,according to the agenda.
During the parade, wife of the Chairman of the State Admini- stration Council Commanderin-Chief of Defence Services Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the Vice Chairman of the SAC Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief(Army) Daw Than Than Nwe, the wife of the Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air), the wife of the Commander-in- Chief (Navy), the wife of the Commander-in-Chief (Air) and wives of senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief garlanded personnel in the columns. Similarly, officers, other ranks and families from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), the Nay Pyi Taw Command and respective stations, members of the Myanmar Police Force and families, film and music artistes and local residents warmly greeted the parade columns with garlands along the road. Tatmadaw personnel and members of the MPF marched into the parade ground by chanting military songs in patriotic spiritand took designated positions.
The 80th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day parade was attended by Deputy Defence Minister of the Russian Federation Colonel General Alexander Vasilyevich Fomin and delegates, Defence Minister of the Republic of Belarus Lieutenant General Viktar Gennadyevich Khrenin and delegates, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Zeya Kyawhtin Thray Sithu Kyaw Swar Lin, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Zeya Kyawhtin Htein Win, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Zeya Kyawhtin Sithu Tun Aung, the secretary, the joint secretary and members of the SAC, union-level officials, senior military officers from the Office of the Commanderin- Chief of Defence Services, families of the Thirty Comrades, families of retired commandersin- chief, retired senior military officers of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), holders of Independence Mawgunwin titles (first, second and third classes), advisors, deputy ministers, retired ambassadors from the Tatmadaw, members of Nay Pyi Taw Council, military attachés of foreign missions and officials, representatives from NCA signatory ethnic armed organizations, chairmen and officials from political parties, families and relatives of holders of Aung San Thuriya titles, personnel, families and relatives of Thiha Thura, Thura and military gallantry title and certificate winners, members of the War Veteran Organization, members of transformed people’s militias, original people’s militias, border guard central advisory and supervisory organizations, the Myanmar Police Force, Myanmar Fire Services Department and Myanmar Red Cross Society, officials and staff of ministries, members of the YMBA, Myanmar Women’s Affairs Organization, Myanmar Maternal and Child Welfare Association and Myanmar Interfaith Dialogue Organization (Central), artistes who played a role in TV series honouring the Armed Forces Day, prize winners of marching song, song of personnel, poem, short story and long story competitions, donors for the Armed Forces Day, officials of the News Media Council, motion pictures, Thabin and music organizations and centre for strategic studies, personnel from university training corps, teachers and students from the University for Development of National Races and the Union, invited guests and local and foreign media.
First, Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing arrived at the parade ground and took the salute of Tatmadaw personnel and members of the MPF after taking a position on the dais. When the Senior General arrived at the parade
ground, a MiG-29 multi-rolefighter jet saluted him by flying to the opposite direction and firing illumination rounds. Then, the Senior General inspected the parade columns.
Afterward, the Senior General, personnel and members of the MPF saluted the state flag and fallen heroes and took four oaths.
Then, the Senior General delivered an address.
Then, Tatmadaw personnel and MPF members in the columns led by parade commander Maj-Gen Ye Kyaw Thu marched and saluted the Senior General in designated column formation and left the parade ground.
While taking the salute of the parade columns, the Senior General was also saluted by a MTX-1A aircraft and two PT-6s flying in Trail Formation to the east of the stand, two H-125 helicopters flying in Trail Formation, a Bell-206 helicopter flying from the left to the right of the stand, two Eurocopters flying in Trail formation from the left to the right of the stand, two H-125 helicopters flying along the 295 degree route from left 45 degree east of the stand in Echelon formation, the Bell-206 flying to the east of the stand for the second time, the Eurocopters flying along the 025 degree route from right 45 degree east of the stand in Echelon formation for the second time, a BEECH 1900D transport aircraft flying along the 025 degree route from right 45 degree of the east of the stand, an ATR 72 transport aircraft flying from the south to the north of the stand, two K-8W fighter aircraft flying along the 025 degree route from right 45 degree of the east of the stand in Echelon formation, two postfourth generation multi-role heavy Su-30 SME fighters flying along the 295 degree route fromleft 45 degree east of the stand in Echelon Formation and two post-fourth generation multi-role heavy Su-30 SME fighters flying flying from the sky behind the stand to the opposite direction and launching flares.
Then, the Senior General cordially greeted the guests and left the parade ground and the Armed Forces Day parade successfully concluded.
The bronze statues of the three kings who established the first, second and third Myanmar Empires and the commemorative flambeau and emblem of the 80th Anniversary Armed Forces Day can be seen proudly at the parade ground. The colourful flags of the Burma Independence Army, Burma Defence Army, the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), directorates of the Commander-in-Chief Office (Army), regional commands, light infantry divisions were fluttering at the parade ground.
The marching route of the parade columns was decorated with truss beams, lights, light boxes and lighting poles representing the parade columns and the archway of the parade ground was also decorated with LED strip lights, which changed colours representing the parade columns while both sides of the routes were illuminated with shower lights, up lights and Program LED strip lights and banners welcoming the parade columns. The state flag and flags of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) were depicted with lighting effects.
Trees opposite the dais in the parade ground were decorated with hand-made lights while two stars depicting the flag of the Tatmadaw at the base of the statues of the three kings were illuminated with LED strip lights. The route from which the Senior General would leave the parade ground was graced with flag light boxes and LED strip lights.
Moreover, posters depicting the activities of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) that will inspire patriotism and national pride were put up at the junction of Yangon-Mandalay Highway and Pinlaung Road in honour of the 80th Anniversary Armed Forces Day while posters and banners of the Tatmadaw mottos were put up in the English and Myanmar languages along road in front of the parade ground.
